Miami Township Police Add New Chaplain

Jeff Wolf will serve police department, community

The Miami Township Police Department has added Jeffery Wolf to its staff of Police Chaplains for the department. His addition brings the total to three to serve the department in situations where victim or family counseling is necessary.

Mr. Wolf is Pastor for the House of Restoration in Miami Township. He has had previous experience as a Police Chaplain with the Portage County Sheriff's Office, the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, the Sidney, Ohio Police Department, and the Bucyrus, Ohio Police Department.

“Pastor Wolf is unique to us as a Chaplain because he has also been certified as a Peace Officer in the State of Ohio,” said Miami Township Police Chief Steve Bailey. “He brings an amazing level of experience and training to this position and we are very pleased to have him as part of our police department.”

A law enforcement chaplain is a clergyperson with special interest and training for providing pastoral care in the high powered and dangerous world of law enforcement. This pastoral care is offered to all people, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, creed, or religion. It is offered without cost or the taint of proselytizing.

The law enforcement chaplain is led in his or her own faith to be available and ready to serve those in need. The chaplain's ministry provides a source of strength to the law enforcement officers and their families, other department members, the community, and the incarcerated.
