Restoring the City
What is Restoring the City all about?
From November 16, 2008 to August 30, 2009 the House of Restoration experienced a mighty nine month season of revival. A supernatural outpouring took place. Following the revival season, the Lord instructed us to take revival to our city. Restoring the City is the outreach arm of the House of Restoration as we endeavor to share what the Lord has done in us. There is only one purpose, to reach out to our community to show the love of Christ. The following ministries take place on Sunday afternoons and evenings.
Prayer Walking
Every week, on Sunday night, this small group chooses a neighborhood in the Milford/Miami Twp area and prays over the homes and residents as they walk through.
Restoring the Schools
Students meet on Sunday night to travel to one of the local schools to walk the grounds and pray for the students and the teachers of that school.
Nursing Homes
Teams go to the local nursing homes to hold services for the residents several times a week.
Sewing Ministry
A group of ladies gather on Sunday night to put their talents to use in the Kingdom, sewing quilts, hats, etc. for those in need of them. For more information, check out the Sew For Him Web site.
Jail/Prison Ministry
Groups of jail chaplains hold services at the Clermont County Jail and Juvenile Detention Center every Sunday night.
Card Encouragement
Those wishing to reach out, but can’t get around as good as they used to, minister by signing and mailing cards to encourage families, ministers, churches, etc…
Good Samaritan
We have a partnership with Bathesda North Hospital, and send a team there every Sunday night to offer refreshments to patients and families in the Emergency waiting room. Often our volunteers are invited back into the ER rooms to pray with patients.
Handy Man Teams
Teams go out on Sunday night to do light maintenance for people in the church and the community. This may include lawncare and landscaping, cleaning gutters, hanging blinds, fixing steps, etc.
Anonymous Blessings
A representative of the church goes to a local restaurant to anonymously pay for the meal of an unsuspecting family having dinner there. If they are asked who paid for the meal, the server simply replies, “The House of Restoration took care of you tonight.”
Adopt-A-Highway
Our church has adopted the highway that we are located on several miles in both directions. We have a team of volunteers that have gone through ODOT training, and regularly pick up trash along the highway.
Curbside Care
Volunteers go to a local store and offer to help the elderly and physically challenged load their groceries into their cars.
